In 1997 Deon Erasmus and a small dedicated team returned to Cape Town and started Eraco Boat Builders. Their first commission was to design and build a very unusual 22m, all marine grade aluminium sailing research vessel for a British client. ZuZa was designed and built to comply with MCA (Marine Coastguard Agency) specification and is capable of taking scientists/researchers on extended voyages of discovery to the most remote sailing areas of the world, safely and comfortably.
